Privacy policy

swoop is a Mac app made by Eelis Puro, Finland. In short: swoop doesn't collect any personal data. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and there is no swoop server that your data could go to.

What stays on your Mac

Files on the shelf. swoop remembers where the files you drop on the shelf are, so they are still there after a restart. It never copies, uploads or opens your files by itself; it only shows their names and icons. Clear Shelf in the menu bar menu removes them all.
AirDrop. macOS's own AirDrop window sends the files to the device you pick. swoop doesn't see or keep anything about the transfer.
Music. With your permission, swoop asks Spotify or Music what is playing (song, artist, album, length, position and cover) and sends them play, pause, skip and seek commands. This is kept in memory only while swoop runs. Album covers are explained below.
Camera. The camera mirror shows your camera image live in the notch, only while the mirror is open. The image is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
Calendar and reminders. With your permission, swoop reads your upcoming events and reminders on your Mac to show them in the notch. If you change something in swoop, such as ticking off a reminder, macOS saves it just as it does for Apple's Calendar and Reminders apps. swoop never sends calendar or reminder data anywhere. (Syncing with iCloud, Google or other accounts is done by macOS, not by swoop.)
Battery, network and clock. swoop reads these from macOS. For network speed it only reads how much data has moved through your connection. It doesn't look at what you send or receive and doesn't contact any server.
System. CPU, memory and disk use are read from macOS and shown in the notch.
Timers and the water reminder. They use macOS notifications, which macOS asks you to allow.
App shortcuts. You pick apps in the standard macOS window; swoop only remembers which apps you picked.
Settings. Your choices, such as widgets and colors, are saved in swoop's own settings on your Mac.

What leaves your Mac

Album covers. If the music app doesn't provide the cover itself, swoop looks it up:
- for Spotify, it sends the song's public Spotify link to Spotify's oEmbed service (open.spotify.com) and then downloads the cover image from Spotify;
- for Apple Music, it sends the artist and album (or song) name to Apple's iTunes Search service (itunes.apple.com) and then downloads the cover image from Apple.
These requests contain no account, name or other identifier from swoop. As with any internet request, the service can see your IP address. Spotify's and Apple's privacy policies apply to these requests. swoop keeps covers in memory only.
Website icons. For your quick links and the Claude and ChatGPT buttons, swoop downloads each website's icon from that website itself, as a browser does, and keeps it on your Mac for up to two weeks. No other icon service is used.
Links and the prompt box. A quick link opens in your browser or in the app it belongs to (such as Notion). When you send text from the Claude or ChatGPT box, swoop opens that website in your browser with your text, and from there that service's privacy policy applies. swoop doesn't save or send the text anywhere else.

What swoop doesn't do

No account or sign-in.
No analytics, crash reporting tools, ads or tracking. If you have chosen in macOS to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports on to us; Apple handles that.
No selling or sharing of data. There is none to sell or share.

Permissions

macOS asks you before swoop can control Spotify or Music, use the camera, or read your calendars and reminders. You can change these at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security (Automation, Camera, Calendars, Reminders).

Removing your data

Clear Shelf in the menu bar menu empties the shelf. To remove everything, quit swoop, move it to the Trash and delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.dipworks.swoop.

Children

swoop is suitable for everyone and collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.

swoop on Eelis Puron (Suomi) tekemä Mac-appi. Lyhyesti: swoop ei kerää henkilötietoja. Siinä ei ole tiliä, mainoksia, analytiikkaa eikä seurantaa, eikä ole mitään swoop-palvelinta, jolle tietosi voisivat mennä.

Mikä pysyy Macillasi

Hyllyn tiedostot. swoop muistaa, missä hyllylle pudottamasi tiedostot ovat, jotta ne ovat tallessa myös uudelleenkäynnistyksen jälkeen. Se ei koskaan kopioi, lähetä eikä avaa tiedostojasi omin päin, vaan näyttää vain niiden nimet ja kuvakkeet. Valikkorivin valikon Clear Shelf poistaa ne kaikki.
AirDrop. macOS:n oma AirDrop-ikkuna lähettää tiedostot valitsemaasi laitteeseen. swoop ei näe eikä säilytä siirrosta mitään.
Musiikki. Luvallasi swoop kysyy Spotifylta tai Musiikki-apilta, mitä soi (kappale, esittäjä, albumi, kesto, kohta ja kansikuva), ja lähettää niille toisto-, tauko-, ohitus- ja kelauskomentoja. Tiedot pidetään vain muistissa niin kauan kuin swoop on käynnissä. Kansikuvista kerrotaan alempana.
Kamera. Kamerapeili näyttää kamerakuvasi suorana notchissa, vain silloin kun peili on auki. Kuvaa ei koskaan tallenneta eikä lähetetä minnekään.
Kalenteri ja muistutukset. Luvallasi swoop lukee tulevat tapahtumasi ja muistutuksesi Macillasi ja näyttää ne notchissa. Jos muutat jotain swoopissa, esimerkiksi kuittaat muistutuksen tehdyksi, macOS tallentaa muutoksen samoin kuin Applen Kalenteri- ja Muistutukset-apeissa. swoop ei koskaan lähetä kalenteri- tai muistutustietoja minnekään. (Synkronoinnin iCloudiin, Googleen tai muille tileille hoitaa macOS, ei swoop.)
Akku, verkko ja kello. swoop lukee nämä macOS:ltä. Verkon nopeutta varten se lukee vain, paljonko dataa yhteyden kautta on kulkenut. Se ei katso, mitä lähetät tai vastaanotat, eikä ota yhteyttä mihinkään palvelimeen.
Järjestelmä. Suorittimen, muistin ja levyn käyttö luetaan macOS:ltä ja näytetään notchissa.
Ajastimet ja vesimuistutus. Ne käyttävät macOS:n ilmoituksia, joihin macOS kysyy sinulta luvan.
App-pikakuvakkeet. Valitset apit macOS:n tavallisessa ikkunassa; swoop muistaa vain, mitkä apit valitsit.
Asetukset. Valintasi, kuten widgetit ja värit, tallentuvat swoopin omiin asetuksiin Macillasi.

Mitä Macilta lähtee

Kansikuvat. Jos musiikkiappi ei anna kansikuvaa itse, swoop hakee sen:
- Spotifyn kappaleille se lähettää kappaleen julkisen Spotify-linkin Spotifyn oEmbed-palveluun (open.spotify.com) ja lataa kansikuvan Spotifylta;
- Apple Musicin kappaleille se lähettää esittäjän ja albumin (tai kappaleen) nimen Applen iTunes Search -palveluun (itunes.apple.com) ja lataa kansikuvan Applelta.
Pyynnöissä ei ole tiliä, nimeä eikä muuta swoopin tunnistetta. Kuten missä tahansa verkkopyynnössä, palvelu näkee IP-osoitteesi. Näihin pyyntöihin sovelletaan Spotifyn ja Applen tietosuojakäytäntöjä. swoop pitää kansikuvat vain muistissa.
Sivustojen kuvakkeet. Pikalinkeillesi sekä Clauden ja ChatGPT:n painikkeille swoop lataa kunkin sivuston kuvakkeen suoraan siltä sivustolta, kuten selain tekee, ja säilyttää sen Macillasi enintään kaksi viikkoa. Muuta kuvakepalvelua ei käytetä.
Linkit ja kehotekenttä. Pikalinkki aukeaa selaimessasi tai siinä apissa, johon se kuuluu (esimerkiksi Notionissa). Kun lähetät tekstiä Clauden tai ChatGPT:n kentästä, swoop avaa kyseisen sivuston selaimessasi tekstisi kanssa, ja siitä eteenpäin sovelletaan sen palvelun tietosuojakäytäntöä. swoop ei tallenna eikä lähetä tekstiä minnekään muualle.

Mitä swoop ei tee

Ei tiliä eikä kirjautumista.
Ei analytiikkaa, kaatumisraportointityökaluja, mainoksia eikä seurantaa. Jos olet macOS:ssä sallinut kaatumistietojen jakamisen kehittäjille, Apple voi välittää meille nimettömiä kaatumisraportteja; sen hoitaa Apple.
Ei tietojen myyntiä eikä jakamista. Myytävää tai jaettavaa ei ole.

Luvat

macOS kysyy sinulta ennen kuin swoop voi ohjata Spotifya tai Musiikkia, käyttää kameraa tai lukea kalentereitasi ja muistutuksiasi. Voit muuttaa lupia milloin tahansa: Järjestelmäasetukset › Tietosuoja ja suojaus (Automaatio, Kamera, Kalenterit, Muistutukset).

Tietojen poistaminen

Valikkorivin valikon Clear Shelf tyhjentää hyllyn. Poistaaksesi kaiken lopeta swoop, siirrä se roskakoriin ja poista kansio ~/Library/Containers/com.dipworks.swoop.

Lapset

swoop sopii kaikille, eikä se kerää tietoja keneltäkään, ei myöskään lapsilta.

Muutokset

Jos seloste muuttuu, uusi versio julkaistaan tällä sivulla uudella päivämäärällä.
